X (Twitter) Video Downloader – Videos & GIFs to MP4
Download videos and GIFs from public X posts — x.com and twitter.com links both work.
Free · No sign-up · Public videos only · Updated October 2026
How do I download an X / Twitter video?
Three steps, about ten seconds.
Copy the post link
On X tap Share → Copy link on the post with the video.
Paste & fetch
Paste it above. Posts with several videos list each one.
Save the MP4
Pick a quality — GIFs are saved as MP4 too.
How do you save X (Twitter) videos and GIFs?
X doesn't let you save videos from its app. GrabThatVideo takes the post link and returns every video in it as an MP4, in the resolutions X provides.
GIFs on X are actually short videos, so they download as MP4 files that loop in most players. Posts from protected accounts can't be downloaded.
Which X / Twitter links work?
| Link type | What it is |
|---|---|
x.com/[user]/status/… | Posts with a video or GIF |
twitter.com/[user]/status/… | Older Twitter links |
t.co/… | Shortened links |
Why isn't my video downloading?
Most failed downloads come from one of these five reasons.
| Message you see | Why it happens | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| “This video is private or needs a login” | The post is from a private account, a closed group, a Story or a Close Friends list. | Only public posts can be downloaded. Try a public post. |
| “No video found” | The link points to a photo post or an image pin, not a video. | Open a post with a play button and copy that post's link. |
| “Deleted or unavailable” | The post was removed, is blocked in some regions, or the link was cut off. | Copy the link again from the post's Share menu. |
| “Busy right now” | Many people are downloading at the same moment. | Wait one minute and try again. |
| Nothing appears in Photos (iPhone) | Safari saves downloads to the Files app, not Photos. | Open Files → Downloads, tap the video, then Share → Save Video. |

Who runs GrabThatVideo?
GrabThatVideo is a free web tool that saves public videos from Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook and X (Twitter) as MP4 files, with no app and no sign-up. It was built by Vipul Chaudhary, a marketer based in Bangalore, India, who wanted a downloader without clutter or pop-ups.
GrabThatVideo fetches videos with the open-source yt-dlp engine, which is updated on our server every day so downloads keep working when the platforms change their sites. Every file is merged into a standard MP4 (usually H.264 video with AAC audio), so it plays on iPhone, Android, Windows and Mac without extra apps.
GrabThatVideo keeps each prepared file on its server only until you save it and deletes it automatically after 30 minutes. It does not keep a list of the links you paste and does not require an account.
Shortcut: add ?url= and a video link to the end of this page's address — for example grabthatvideo.com/?url=https://pin.it/abc123 — and GrabThatVideo fetches the video as soon as the page opens.
