How GrabThatVideo handles copyright
GrabThatVideo does not host or store a library of videos. When someone pastes a link to a public post, our server fetches that video from the original platform, prepares it as an MP4 for that one person, and deletes it after 30 minutes. There is no page on our site where your video is published or listed.
What we can do is block a specific post so GrabThatVideo refuses to process it from then on. Anyone who pastes a blocked link sees the message "This video can't be downloaded here because its owner asked us to remove it."
If your video was re-uploaded somewhere else without permission, you should also report it to that platform, since the copy lives there, not on GrabThatVideo.
How to send a removal notice
Email hello@grabthatvideo.com with the subject "Copyright notice" and include:
- The link(s) to the post(s) on Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook, X or LinkedIn that you want blocked.
- A description of the copyrighted work, and a link to the original if it's somewhere else.
- Your full name, and your company name if you act for one.
- Your email address and phone number.
- A statement that you believe in good faith that use of the material is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorised to act for the owner.
- Your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name is enough).
This follows the requirements of the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512) and is also how we handle notices under India's Copyright Act, 1957 and Information Technology Act, 2000.
What happens next
- We acknowledge your notice within 2 working days.
- If the notice is complete, we block the listed post(s), usually within 3 working days.
- We reply to confirm when the block is live, or tell you what's missing.
Counter-notice
If you posted the video and believe it was blocked by mistake — for example, you own it or have permission — email us with the subject "Counter-notice", the blocked link, an explanation, your contact details, and a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe the block was a mistake. We may share your counter-notice with the person who sent the original notice and may restore access if they don't pursue the matter.
Please be accurate
Sending a notice that knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing can make you liable for damages. If you're not sure whether something infringes your copyright, consider getting legal advice first.
